2000 toyota tundra starter relay problems. Usually the ignition fuse will be relatively large. The solenoid does not work because you shorted it out with the screwdriver so the engine will not turn over. If it clicks that means that the starter motor is getting voltage.
However yesterday i cleaned it all up and went to go start it and take it to a shop to get my rear stopping light fixed but it wouldnt. Sometimes starts right a way sometimes have to turn the ignition key - Toyota 2000 Tundra question. Was the Starter Relay inside the engine fuse box and not the Starter of Starter Selinoid.
I changed the computer key to a new one thinking the module in the key was bad. This problem may be attributed to a circuit that has failed so no matter how many times you turn the key the vehicle will not start. Our 2000 Toyota Tundra wont start.
1 disconnect battery 2 remove any wires connected to the starter 3 remove mounting bolts 4 catch the starter and manouver it through your suspincion 5 you may need to reverse 2 and 3 depending on how hard the wires are to get to 6 now revers these steps with new starter. If it does the solenoid is defective. 2000 Tundra Turn key sometimes it starts sometimes a 1 or 2 second delay then starts sometimes nothing at all.
If you find the ign relay swap it with another non-critical relay test it. Open your Toyotas relay panel which is located on the drivers side of the engine block near the battery. Next time it clicks when it doesnt start take notice if the truck loses all powerthe dash lights shut off headlights off radio off etc if it loses power it is definitely a corrosion cable or bad cell in the battery problem.
At times the truck will not start and I will need to wait for approx 30 min and it will start. Before I replaced the starter what was happening was I would turn the key to start nothing would happen for a second or so then the starter would engage. Next step is the starter solenoid which on the 47 is a pain in the neck to get to the whole intake manifold needs to be removed to get to starter.
