2000 toyota tundra v8 interference engine. The 57L 46L and 40L engines have timing chains while the 47L and 34L engines have timing belts. My dealer told me he sees timing belts break with no enginevalve damage. Is the engine in a 2001 toyota tundra sr5 v8a interference engine.
Maybe someone that has had one break confirm. In 2007 Toyota introduced the 57 V8 for use in the Tundra Sequoia Land Cruiser and Lexus LX 570. Can any body tell me if the 47 V8 is Interference or non-interference.
Replaced the T100 for the 2000 model year. I have heard this was Interference engine though. Work in Progress 2000 47L SR5 06 Tundra Hanks build page 2006 RCLB Tundra2s lifetime project is 04 47 v8 an interference engine.
Toyota Tundra Timing Overview All Model Years Over its lifespan the Toyota Tundra has had engines utilizing either a timing chain or a timing belt. I got 1819 all around mixed driving. Man its not the end of the world if I tick over 180k before I change the belt.
It offers a respectable 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. The Toyotas 47-liter V8 engine is a well-known member of the UZ family. Asked by cliffday in Cambridge ME on.
In comparison to non-interference engines interference engines breathe better because the valves can open earlier close later and open wider. I plan to replace my timing belt water pump and associated parts. The 1UZ-FE and 3UZ-FE has aluminum cylinder block while the 2UZ-FE engine had a cast iron block - more reliable.
