I have a 2001 RAV4 20L manual transmission with 62000 km.

2001 toyota tundra knocking while cold start. The engine cranks but will not fire. Either way mine has been doing it forever and it is no worse for the wear. I have no heard the noise in a while as it is warm here now but after searching through Youtube I found a Tundra noise video with the SAME NOISE.

I run 5W-30 and use Toyota oil filters. Joined Feb 14 2006. Its a distinct knock that varies with engine speed goes away after about 5-10 minutes of warm-up.

This noise seems to go away after driving for a while after the engine has reached. Once it warms up it goes away usually after 10 min or so. The noise appears to be coming from inside the tires.
