Toyota tundra transmission problems. I was wondering if anyone with a 2015 Tundra has the same issue as I am having. Based on these criteria the worst year for Toyota Tundra is 2012. It was selected as Motor Trends Truck of the Year award for 2000 and Best Full- Size Truck from Consumer Reports.
The most common issue reported is a failure with the air induction pump. The Tundra is an impressive performer on the pavement and off-road and occupants can enjoy a comfortable and clutter-free cabin. While the Tundra has many outstanding features it has some problems of its own.
At its introduction the Tundra had the highest initial vehicle sales for Toyota in its history. The transmission just broke again same exact problem. Most of the pump problems kick in around 74000 miles.
The six-speed automatic transmission also hasnt received any major updates. The shift solenoid might go bad causing the vehicle to shift erratically stop shifting or stop driving altogether. For instance the 2006 Toyota Tundra has a transmission problem that can be a hazard on the road.
Many Tundra owners claim they experience hesitation from their automatic transmission when shifting gears. Four problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 2002 Toyota Tundra. With a production capacity of 120000 sales were double the rate of the T100.
